**Question 13 –** If 28 laddus are made in one kg of gram flour, then how many laddus will be made in 15 kg of gram flour? If 14 laddoos can be packed in a box, then how many boxes will be needed to pack all the laddoos

**Solution –** One kg gram flour = 28 laddus

In 15 kg gram flour = 28x15 = 420 laddus will be made.

to pack = 420/14

420÷14

60÷2

= 30

**Answer = 30 boxes required.**

**Question 14 –** Write the number of faces, vertices and edges of a cuboid.

**Ans. –** face = 6

top = 8

core = 12

**Question 15 –** Give any four examples of a cuboid from your daily life.

**Question 16 –** Write the first 5 multiples of the number 4.

**Answer –** First 5 multiples of 4 = 4, 8, 12, 16, 20

**Question 17 –** The length of the fence of a square garden is 32 metres. How long will one side of the garden be.

**Solution –** All sides of a square are equal.

Length of fence = 32 m then

Length of one side 32/4 = 8 m

**Answer = 8 m**

**Question 18 –** A farmer sells milk at Rs.56 per litre. It sells 210 liters of milk in a month. Tell me, how much milk will he sell in a month?

**Solution –** One liter of milk = Rs.56.

Total earning of one month

= 210×56

Answer = = Rs 11760.

**Question 19 –** A rectangle whose length is 12 cm and breadth is 8 cm. How many postage stamps of 4 square centimeters will be required to cover this rectangle completely?

**Solution –** Area of the rectangle. = length×breadth

= 12 cm. x 8 cm. = 96 sq cm.

Postage stamp area. = 4 sq cm.

Stamps required to cover the rectangle completely = 96/4

= 24 stamps

**Answer = 24 postage stamps**

**Question 20 –** Who all are seen in the picture of the house shown above–

**Answer –** acute angle, right angle and obtuse angle.

**Question 21 –** The cost of laddoos is Rs.200 per kg and the cost of barfi is Rs.400 per kg. Raju has Rs 800, out of which he spends one-fourth on buying laddoos and three-fourth on buying barfis. Tell –

(a) How many kilograms of laddoos did he buy?

(b) How many kilograms of barfi did he buy?

(c) How many kilograms of laddoos and barfi did he buy in all.

**Solution –** (a) 800 x 1/4 = 1 kg of laddoos bought for Rs.200.

(b) 800 x 3/4 = Rs.600.

In that 1 kg. will buy 500 grams of Barfi.

(c) 1 kg laddoos

+1 kg barfi + 500 grams

= 2500

**Answer = 2500 grams**

**Question 22 –** Find the difference of the areas of the two rectangles given above if the size of the smaller rectangle is 8×3 cm. And the size of the big rectangle is 9×5 cm. is. —

**Solution –** Area of the rectangle = length × breadth
Area of smaller rectangle = 8×3 = 24 sq cm
Measure of bigger rectangle = 9×5 = 45 sq cm
Difference = 45 - 24 = 21
**Answer = 21 sq cm.**

**Question 23 –** A tank contains 200 liters of water. How much water can be filled inside 30 tanks? If 20 buckets can be filled with water from one tank, then how many buckets can be filled with water from 30 tanks?

**Solution –** Capacity of a tank = 200 litres.

Capacity of 30 tanks = 30x200 = 6000 litres.

One tank can fill bucket = 20 nos

From 30 tanks = 6000 : 20

= 6000÷20

=600÷2

= 300

**Answer = 300 buckets**

**Question 24 –** One day wages of farm laborers in different cities are as follows –

city – a day's wages

Bhopal – Rs 225

Vidisha – Rs 175

Raisen – Rs 150

Sehore – Rs 190

Answer the following questions on the basis of this table –

(a) Farhan works in Raisen. If he works on the farm for two weeks, how much money will he get?

(b) If Kamla works in the field in Bhopal, how much money will she get in the month of March?

(c) What is the difference between the highest wage and the lowest wage?

**Solution –**

(A) Total 14 days in two weeks

Total wages = 14x150 = Rs.2100.

(b) Total number of days in March = 31

Total wages = 31x225 = Rs.6975.

(c) Highest wage = Rs.225.

Lowest wage = Rs.150.

**Answer = Rs 75**
