बैंक एक ऐसी संस्था होती है जिसमें वे लोग जो अपनी कमाई से कुछ पैसों की बचत कर लेते हैं अथवा अपने धन की सुरक्षा के लिए जमा कर देते हैं बैंक कहलाता है।अर्थात् ऐसी वित्तीय संस्था को बैंक कहा जाता है, जिसमें जमा कर्ताओं की जमा राशि स्वीकार करता है एवं ऋण की मांग करने वाले लोगों को उचित ऋण प्रदान भी करता है यही प्रक्रिया बैंक के अंतर्गत आती है।

विभिन्न प्रकार के खाते।

Different types of Accounts

बैंक में विभिन्न प्रकार के खाते खोले जा सकते हैं–
A.बचत बैंक खाता।
B.चालू खाता सावधि।
C.जमा खाता।
D.आवर्ती जमा खाता।
(A).बचत बैंक खाता– अपने आय से बचत कर जमा करने की सोच ने इस बचत बैंक खाते को सबसे लोकप्रिय खाते का दर्जा दिलाया है।यह खाता 200/500रू. की न्यूनतम राशि से वर्तमान समय में खोल सकते हैं।खाता खोलने के पश्चात से निरंतर इच्छा अनुसार पैसे जमा किए जा सकते हैं।जरूरत पड़ने पर पैसा निकाल भी सकते हैं।इस हेतु आहरण पर्ची भरकर या चेक द्वारा खाता धारी पैसे निकाल सकते हैं।परंतु चेक द्वारा निकासी के खातेदारी के खाते में कम से कम 1000रू. का होना अति आवश्यक होता है। इस प्रकार के खाते में सालाना 4% ब्याज प्राप्त होता है। ब्याज प्रत्येक महीने की 10 तारीख से 30/31 तारीख तक खाते में जमा धन पर ही प्राप्त होता है।इस तरह के खातों में पैसा निकासी पर कुछ शर्तें निहित होती हैं।आजकल निजी बैंक भी ओर अग्रसर होते हैं। उदाहरण–किसी व्यक्ति के खाते में 1800 हैं तथा वह 11 तारीख को 900 खाते में डालता है।तब उसे किस राशि पर ब्याज मिलेगा? उत्तर– अतः खाताधारी को ब्याज मिलेगा1800 रुपए पर।
(B).चालू खाता– ऐसा खाता जिसके अंतर्गत धन जमा करने या निकासी करने पर कोई बंधन नहीं पाया जाता है। ऐसा खाता प्रायः व्यापारियों एवं बड़ी-बड़ी संस्थाओं कंपनियों आदि द्वारा खोला जाता है।जिससे कि दैनिक लेन-देन में कोई परेशानी उत्पन्न न हो सके।परंतु इस खाते पर कोई ब्याज प्राप्त नहीं होता है।कभी-कभी किसी विशेष परिस्थिति में बैंक खाता धारियों से कुछ पैसा वसूल करता है।यह खाता ₹10,000 रू.की न्यूनतम राशि से खोला जा सकता है।इस क्षेत्र में निजी बैंक भी खातेधारियों को काफी सुविधा मुहैया कराकर सहायक सिद्ध हो रही हैं।
(C).सावधि जमा खाता– ऐसा खाता है जिसके अंतर्गत खाताधारी किसी निश्चित समय के लिए एकमुश्त रकम जमा कर देता है।यह समय अवधि न्यूनतम 15 दिन से अधिकतम वर्षों तक भी हो सकती है।ऐसे खाता का जमा धन का उपयोग बैंक खाता की तुलना में अधिक स्वतंत्रता पूर्वक करता है।इस खाते में ब्याज का परिकलन चक्रवृद्धि ब्याज परिकलन की तरह ही होता है।ब्याज की राशि पहले की अपेक्षा कम होने के चलते इस ओर लोगों का झुकाव कम ही देखने को मिल रहा है।
(D).आवर्ती जमा खाता– इस प्रकार के खाते में खाताधारी की इच्छा से निश्चित समय तक प्रत्येक समय अंतराल पर प्रारंभ में ही तय राशि को जमा करते रहना होगा।जिससे अंत में ब्याज के साथ वापस होता है।आवर्ती जमा खाते में ब्याज की दर सावधि जमा खाते के लगभग बराबर होता है।

Charges the holders some money. This account can be opened with a minimum amount of Rs.10,000.Private banks are also helping in this sector by providing a lot of convenience to the account holders.
(C).Fixed deposit account– is an account under which the account holder deposits a lump sum amount for a fixed period of time.This time period can be from minimum 15 days to maximum years. Uses the money deposited in the bank account more freely than in the bank account.The calculation of interest in this account is similar to the calculation of compound interest.Due to the lesser amount of interest than before, people are less inclined towards it. getting it.
(D).Recurring Deposit Account– In this type of account, the account holder has to keep depositing the amount fixed at the beginning at every time interval for a specified period of time.The rate of interest in a recurring deposit account is almost equal to that of a fixed deposit account.
